I wanted thank you for stopping by my poetry blog, and take a minute to tell you why I started this. I was sitting in my bed last night, listening to a band called "Red", they are a mainstream christian rock band, and one of my favorite bands period. Now, I'm not exactly a religious person, but I can connect with many of their songs. I was listening to "Nothing and Everything", a bonus track on the deluxe edition that is an acoustic piano/strings version of their song "Fight Inside" which is about struggling with something inside yourself. I especially connect with this song, and as I sat there, words started coming to me, and I had to get up and right them down.
What transpired is a collection of poems inspired by the lyrics of that song. I start off writing down the lyrics that have started me down a certain path, and then just write whatever comes to mind, whatever I'm feeling. The result is not the beautiful, organized stanzas and rhythym of Robert Frost, or, dare I say it, one Billy Shakespeare, but it's what I was thinking and feeling, and it's real.
I certainly intend on continuing in this experiment, So I hope you'll join me, as I discover myself through the music of Red.
